This position is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands office.

Job Responsibilities

Join an eight-person Asset Management team responsible for overseeing a €6 billion diversified European property portfolio, reporting directly to the Director of Property Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the third-party property inspection program, coordinating site visits and managing follow-ups on deferred maintenance with tenants and local property managers.
  • Analyze, review, and report on portfolio maintenance activities.
  • Develop and evaluate maintenance plans and budgets, overseeing contracted and cyclical maintenance.
  • Prepare expense budgets for vacant properties and assess budgets for properties at risk.
  • Identify Capital Expenditure (Capex) opportunities to optimize portfolio value through site visits or detailed analysis.
  • Review and authorize easements, landlord lien waivers, building alterations, and other requests.
  • Evaluate Technical Due Diligence (TDD) reports for new asset acquisitions and oversee post-closing obligations.
  • Travel regularly across multiple European countries to conduct property visits and liaise with tenants and local property managers.
  • Draft concise and informative memoranda for discussion with WPC's Amsterdam and New York offices.

This position is based in our Amsterdam office, supporting the management of a significant European property portfolio.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc) in engineering, architecture, surveying, or a related property field, with 2 to 5+ years of pertinent experience.
  • Experience in maintenance, Capital Expenditure (Capex), and property surveying, coupled with a solid grasp of the legal, financial, commercial, and tenant-related aspects of the role.
  • Ability to effectively oversee multiple projects across Europe.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Robust interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in German, Spanish, Italian, or French is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSc in engineering, architecture, surveying, or a related property field, with 2 - 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background in maintenance, Capex, and property surveying, with a comprehensive understanding of the legal, financial, commercial, and tenant-related aspects.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects across Europe efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates a robust personality and cultural awareness.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German, Spanish, Italian, or French is beneficial.
  • Flexible with travel requirements.
