Job Description

Our client is looking for a new colleague in the role of a Junior Project Manager. As a Junior Project Manager, you will coordinate all aspects within construction projects. You are part of the project team, which works closely together during the different project stages, from feasibility study to delivery. The position includes aspects of programme, efficiency, progress monitoring, information flows, parts of coordination, finance and administration. You will guard all project actions and deadlines and inform the stakeholders.

As a Junior Project Manager, you will make yourself familiar with the project scope (employer requirements) but are not required to have a technical background, as your main tasks are all focused on processes.  

You will work at least with one other (senior) collegue on a project, who will have the lead on the project. He or she will guide you, not only with your day-to-day tasks, but also with your personal growth and development. Externally you will work with the project team and help them managing the project. The project team consist mostly of our clients, contractors, suppliers and other consultants. 

Day to day tasks

• Develop the strategic program and proactively ensure its achievement by anticipating and resolving project issues to maintain construction progress on site.
• Address complex issues and navigate governance and political relationships to resolve or prevent obstacles.
• Assist in establishing and monitoring the project budget to ensure compliance.
• Establish and lead the project team, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Design and maintain the project organization/structure.
• Arrange legal contracts, potentially in collaboration with the client's legal team.
• Offer strategic advice to the client as needed.
• Organize and oversee tender processes.
• Attend all meetings as the client's representative, ensuring accurate minutes are recorded, possibly by yourself.
• Negotiate with external parties.
• Identify and mitigate risks promptly, managing the risk register.
• Supervise all project actions and deadlines, motivating the project team to achieve objectives.
• Understand the project's various stakeholders and involve them as necessary.
• Provide the client with weekly progress reports and participate in strategic meetings to update them on project progress.
• Handle financial tasks such as requesting proposals, awarding contracts, processing change orders, managing invoices, etc.

As a Project Manager / Project Developer for our client, you serve as their primary point of contact, necessitating full-time presence on construction sites. During the pre-construction phase, your base of operations will be our Amsterdam office. Given our team's dispersed locations, we regularly convene in informal settings for drinks or dinner to stay connected.
