The Opportunity
As Necron transitions into a new phase of growth and further professionalization, the role of the Senior Project Development Manager becomes of increased strategic importance. In this evolving environment, the company is building stronger internal structures while maintaining its entrepreneurial spirit. The Senior Project Development Manager is key in shaping secured opportunities into well-founded developments. This role offers significant autonomy, but also demands a high level of ownership, creativity, and execution power.

The Role
As Necron continues to expand its footprint in high-impact real estate developments across Europe, the role of the Senior Project Development Manager has become pivotal in bridging the gap between acquisition and technical execution. This position is activated once an opportunity has been secured and enters a structured development phase. The Senior Project Development Manager oversees project development, coordinating all parties while maintaining authority and perspective. Rather than executing tasks directly, you guide activities through trusted partners, using your expertise to manage all parties and activities effectively.
You connect and bridge the different phases in the project to ensure a smooth transition from one into the other. It is defining the vision, assessing feasibility, and setting the project’s strategic direction before it transitions to implementation. This role is essential in transforming conceptual opportunities into viable, value-driven developments that align with Necron’s long-term growth objectives.
Working as a Senior Project Development Manager at Necron means stepping into a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where real estate development is approached with vision, creativity, and strategic precision. As the organization moves into the next phase of professionalization, strengthening internal processes, expanding its European portfolio, and refining its development pipeline — the Senior Project Development Manager plays a critical role in shaping the future of Necron’s projects.
This is not a role for someone who just executes instructions. It requires someone who thrives on autonomy, capable of taking a secure opportunity and transforming it into a compelling, feasible, and high-impact development working with and overseeing high-quality partners. You are expected to think beyond the obvious, challenge conventional thinking, and propose innovative solutions that align with both market realities and Necron’s strategic ambitions.
Success in this role demands a solid foundation in real estate development, not only academically, but through hands-on experience. You understand the full lifecycle of a project, from early-stage feasibility and conceptual design to stakeholder engagement. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and making informed decisions even when not all variables are known.
You must also be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of urban development trends, zoning regulations, and market dynamics. Your ability to conduct and interpret complex analyses is essential for justifying project directions and securing internal and external support. A broad, preferably international, network enables you to bring in the right partners, insights, and opportunities at the right time.
At Necron, you are given the freedom to operate independently, but with that autonomy comes the responsibility to deliver. You will be trusted to manage your projects, timelines, and collaborations while being fully accountable for progress, quality, and results. This balance of independence and accountability makes the role both challenging and highly rewarding.
In this position, the Senior Project Development Manager works closely with the different external parties involved in project development, construction etc as well as with internal team members such as the Acquisition Director, the Leasing Director as well as the Finance, Marketing and Legal departments. This collaboration requires the ability to think abstractly and strategically, while also offering sound advice and direction to both internal teams and external stakeholders. The role calls for entrepreneurial spirit, strategic insight, and a self-directed approach to navigating complex development challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate secured real estate opportunities into concrete development strategies together with relevant third-party developers.
  • Ensure, together with relevant parties, in-depth feasibility studies and market analyses to support project viability.
  • Select, collaborate with and oversee, control and guide internal and external stakeholders to shape innovative, out-of-the-box development concepts and to execute it.
  • Be accountable for project control, oversight of outsourced activities, regular project meetings and reporting.
  • Guide the project through early-stage development, including zoning and design vision.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of area development dynamics and urban planning trends.
  • Build and leverage a broad, preferably international, real estate network to enhance project success.

Qualifications & experience

The ideal candidate is a seasoned real estate professional: a visionary thinker with a pragmatic mindset. You are both creative and analytical, capable of seeing the bigger picture while managing the details that bring a project to life. You thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and are energized by the challenge of turning complex opportunities into tangible outcomes. You are a natural collaborator, yet confident in your judgment. Your international outlook and network allow you to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the table.

  • University-level education and at least 12 years of proven experience in real estate development, urban planning, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex development projects with a focus on a smooth transition into delivery.
  • Strong commercial, operational, and financial acumen, with the ability to assess and drive project viability and performance.
  • Preference for candidates with a network at Board or senior executive level, particularly within core real estate markets.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex, high-value development projects from concept to execution.
  • Substantial national and international experience, with the ability to navigate cross-cultural and cross-border project dynamics.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required; German is a plus.
